The article said Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest economic growth in the world as its GDP reached 7.02 percent last year. Vietnam has also enjoyed export surplus for 4 consecutive years. Forbes said this is attributable to Vietnam’s effort to improve its business environment and restructure its economy. In the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) 2019, Vietnam jumped 10 places from last year to 67, making it the most improved country of 2019. The World Bank also spoke highly of Vietnam’s progress in improving its business environment in the last decade.
Forbes reported that Vietnam has signed 12 free trade agreements with partners, of which the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement (EVFTA) and the comprehensive and progressive agreement for trans-pacific partnership (CPTPP) are the “new-generation” deals with higher and broader commitments.
