Forum promotes digital transformation in tourism industry amid COVID-19
(VOVWORLD) - An online forum on digital transformation was held by the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and the Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) on Wednesday to promote Vietnam's tourism development in the context the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event encouraged travel agencies to apply new technologies and get more information about these technologies from leading corporations.
VITA Vice President Vu The Binh said: “Digital transformation is a trend hastened by this pandemic. Many fairs and seminars have concluded that we must embrace the digital transformation and automize our business operations. This pandemic has shown us that this digital transformation must happen as quickly as possible.”
At the forum’s first session, representatives of Google and Facebook discussed needs, trends, and the ability to achieve a digital transformation in global travel. The second session discussed tourism businesses’ digital transformation process. Presentations by representatives of tech enterprises in the tourism sector demonstrated that Vietnam is able to create the digital apps needed for the digital transformation.
