France marks one-year anniversary of Paris terror attacks

(VOVworld) – Commemorations were held this week at places in Paris where one year ago terror attacks killed 130 people.

The commemorations started at the Stade de France stadium and ended at the Bataclan music hall. French President Francois Holland unveiled plaques paying tribute to the victims. The names of 90 victims were read at the Bataclan music hall. Flowers and candles were placed at the site. On Sunday night, British pop legend Sting performed at the reopened Bataclan music hall, which has been closed for 1 year.
In an interview on BBC on Sunday, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said France's state of emergency, imposed after last year's terror attacks in Paris, is likely to be extended to assure public safety during next year’s presidential election campaign.
