(VOVworld) – Leaders of France, Germany, and Russia spoke by telephone Wednesday about organizing a summit on the Ukraine conflict, French President Francois Hollande's office said.

President Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that a peace meeting would have to be constructive and useful toward ending the Ukrainian crisis. The three leaders expressed hope of meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroschenko in Berlin on October 19th if there was progress on implementing the Minsk peace plan in eastern Ukraine.
