Friends from India’s Western Bengal State visit Vietnam

(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang received a delegation of the India Vietnam Solidarity Committee of West-Bengal state led by its President Geetesh Sharman in Hanoi on Tuesday. President Sang urged for futher cooperation between the two sides to bring the bilateral strategic partnership to a new height.
President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong on Monday received the Indian delegation. At the reception in Hanoi, Sharman presented the VUFO with pictures of late President Ho Chi Minh taken during his visit to Kolkata city in 1946, a poem he wrote for Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and a collection of poems by Nguyen Trai and Ho Chi Minh published in India. Sharman told VOV: “Vietnam is very near and dear to us. We need more and more exchanges of delegations and more and more exchanges of friendship between India and Vietnam. Our friendship will never fade. We have brought with us a message of peace, a message of development, and a message of friendship for the Vietnamese people”
During their visit from May 20
th to June 1
st , the delegation, in cooperation with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, will launch Geetesh Sharman’s book called “Traces of Indian culture in Vietnam”.
