On the second day of their summit in Germany, after hearing from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy via video link, the G7 leaders pledged to intensify economic and political pressure on Moscow.

They said they will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military, and diplomatic support to Ukraine for as long as needed.

The statement said the G7 will explore ways to create a "safe corridor" for refugees by streamlining immigration procedures and visa requirements and coordinating efforts to meet Ukraine's humanitarian needs, including recovery and reconstruction which may include the use of Russian assets frozen under national law.

G7 leaders made progress in setting a global price ceiling on oil imports from Russia to limit Moscow's energy revenues.

They insisted that they will expand sanctions to further limit Russia's access to industrial raw materials, services, and key technologies for the defense industry.
