Germany to play stronger role in global security
(VOVworld) - In the “White book” on security policy approved recently by its cabinet, Germany said it will work with the European Union and NATO allies to tackle cross-border challenges, ranging from terrorism to climate change and migration.

The White book says Germany is a globally-connected country with great economic, political, and military influence and a responsibility to help shape the world order. Germany is ready to help resolve current and future security and humanitarian challenges. A deadly terror attack seems to be the most imminent threat to Germany.
On Wednesday, Germany’s Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said Britain had destroyed EU efforts to create a closely-integrated security policy, but Europeans are right to expect that the EU can tackle the big issues faced by the region. She emphasized that the EU now has a post-Brexit opportunity since the UK consistently blocked the EU’s integrated security projects.
