(VOVworld) – Greece’s new government will stick to plans to roll back austerity measures and reject an international bailout extension when aid expires later this month. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras proposed his plans to the parliament, which will give priority to restoring economic independence and equal membership in the EU and resolving the humanitarian crisis. In the first phase until June, Athens hopes to reach an agreement on a “bridge program” with the EU, International Monetary Fund, and European Central Bank, which will ensure Greece’s financing but not require austerity. The rest of the four-year plans is aimed at Syriza realizing the commitments it made in the election.
