(VOVworld) - The Green Heritage Culture and Tourism Week opened on Tuesday to introduce Vietnam’s cultural and natural heritages, especially sites recognized by UNESCO as world natural heritage. The event in Hanoi is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam. Organizers hope to promote the potential and the attractiveness of Vietnam’s ecological tourism.

Ho Dac Thanh is the Director of the Chu Mon Ray National Park in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum. He said:"This event is of great importance. Our greatest expectation is that the green heritage week will encourage the community’s responsibility for preserving the bio-diversity and natural resources for a green world and the people’s sustainable lives."
Until Saturday, there will be a wide range of activities including an exhibit of outstanding cultural heritage of 54 ethic groups, especially green heritage and biosphere reserves, and a program to link the youth with Vietnam’s natural heritage sites.

2 seminars are included, one on the role of culture in preserving and developing world biosphere reserves in Vietnam, and the other on advantages and challenges to economic growth based on green heritage. Performances of Vietnamese folk art are also included to enchant visitors.
