Municipal Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai said an improved investment environment has resulted in a surge in the number of startups and investment capital in Hanoi.

Nearly 23,000 new businesses were established in Hanoi in 2016, bringing the total number of enterprises operating in the capital city to more than 200,000. Participants touched upon the challenges facing them, including cumbersome administrative procedures and the lack of legal documents covering startups. “Administrative reform remains the biggest concern. Local authorities will soon develop appropriate measures to address these issues”, said Hanoi Party Secretary Hoang Trung Hai.
