(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi welcomed 208,000 tourists, earning nearly 33 million USD during the three-day New Year holiday, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

The capital city served 170,000 domestic tourists in the holiday, 3 times higher than the same period last year, the department reported. Meanwhile, as many as 38,000 foreigners, mostly from Japan, China, the UK, the US, Germany, the Republic of Korea, and Finland, visited Hanoi on the occasion.
A number of events were held on the New Year's Eve 2023 at tourist sites and public places such as "Welcome New Year 2023" at the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
A series of cultural activities, art performances, culinary festivals, and flower and ornamental plants arrangements are being held until the Lunar New Year at 6 pedestrian streets.
