High-ranking DPRK delegation visits Vietnam Institute of Agricultural Sciences
(VOVWORLD) - A high-ranking delegation of the Workers’ Party of Korea of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea led by its Vice Chairman Ri Su-yong on Thursday visited the Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute in Hanoi.

At the welcoming ceremony, Director of the Vietnam Agriculture Science Institute Nguyen Hong Son briefed his guests on agricultural products of Vietnam’s strength. He said that this is a good chance for the two sides to share information, thus enhancing cooperation on science and technology in the agricultural field, towards promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation in scientific research and economic development.
For his part, Ri showed his interest in Vietnam's farming techniques applied in the cultivation of food crops such as rice, corn and potato.
He expressed his hope that Vietnam will further support his country in developing high-yielding rice varieties.
As scheduled, the delegation will visit the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the Dan Hoai Cooperative in Dan Phuong district on the same day’s afternoon as part activities of its working programme in Vietnam.
The same day, the Workers’ Party of Korea delegation paid a working visit to the northern province of Hai Duong. They were welcomed by Secretary of the Hai Duong Party Committee Nguyen Manh Hien, who highlighted his province’s potential and advantages. Vice Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s Central Committee Ri Su Yong thanked Hai Duong officials for their warm welcome, voicing his belief in the development of the Vietnam-DPRK relations in the future.
Following the meeting, the WPK delegation visited the factory of the An Phat Plastic and Green Environment JSC in Nam Sach district and planted trees here.
