“Joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange” program is organized by the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA), the national humanitarian portal, and MBBank's charity app.
VAVA President Lieut. Gen Nguyen Huu Chinh appealed for donation at the launch ceremony. “The whole country today still has millions of victims of Agent Orange, who have suffered severe diseases with physical and mental pain. Victims of Agent Orange need the sharing and cooperation of the entire society to alleviate their pain and hardship. Every message sent will receive deep gratitude from the victims,” he said.
The humanitarian program has been running for 13 years with each year receiving thousands of messages, equivalent to billions of Vietnamese dong.
Last year, the texting program "Joining hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange" collected more than 84,300 USD to build 14 new houses, give gifts to 600 people, and support and care for victims at the Social Protection Center.
