Hung Kings’ Temple festival kicks off with street carnival
(VOVworld)- A street carnival themed “Culture of the Hung Kings Ancestral Land: Confluence and Shining” took place in Phu Tho province on Saturday opening the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary and Hung Kings’ Temple festival. Art troupes paraded along main streets of Viet Tri city and Hung Vuong square introducing the diversity of the locality’s folk culture.
More than 3,000 artists and artisans from 13 districts and students from Boarding Schools in Phu Tho province attended the festival. Chu Minh Thu, who participated in the procession team, says: “Every year, we prepare palanquins and boats to perform at the Death Anniversary of the Hung Kings. Rituals at the Hung Kings worshiping ceremony have been practiced for a long time. Through this festival, we hope to introduce our cultural tradition to visitors near and far”.
