Hungary supports Vietnam’s defense of national sovereignty
(VOVworld) – Vietnam hopes to receive Hungary’s support in negotiations towards the early adoption of a free trade agreement with the EU, with whom Vietnam signed a Partnership and Co-operation Agreement (PCA) in 2012. This was stated by Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee and head of its Commission for Mass Mobilization, at a reception on Wednesday hosted by Nemeth Zsolt, Head of the Hungarian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs. Khiet said Vietnam warmly welcomes Hungarian President János Áder to visit Vietnam in November, which will solidify bilateral relations.

Mr. Zsolt said Hungary supports Vietnam's defense of its national sovereignty: “Vietnam plays an important role in ASEAN and the relationship between Vietnam and Hungary has significance in the region. Vietnam’s foreign policy of multilateralization and diversification coincides with our priorities. Hungary supports Vietnam’s struggle to defend its national sovereignty. Solidarity is an important factor for countries like us to defend our national sovereignty.”
Zsolt promised that Hungary will help Vietnam promptly reach a free trade agreement with the EU.
