(VOVWORLD) - A collapse Iran’s nuclear deal with the P5+1 group would be a “great loss”, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned Monday.

In a speech to a quarterly meeting of the agency's Board of Governors, Director General Yukiya Amano said the IAEA has been verifying and monitoring Iran's implementation of its nuclear-related commitments under the nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), since 2015. Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments, so if the JCPOA was to fail, it would be a great loss for nuclear verification and for multilateralism, he added.
In a report last month, the UN nuclear agency confirmed that Iran was following the main regulations of the nuclear deal. Amano said the IAEA had access to all the necessary sites and locations before reaching any conclusion.
