IAEA passes resolution to close investigation on Iran’s nuclear program
IAEA's Director General Yukiya Amano
(VOVworld) - The International Atomic Energy Agency on Tuesday officially closed its probe into Iran's past nuclear activity after roughly a decade of investigation. The IAEA's board of governors approved a resolution presented by Director General Yukiya Amano earlier this month that recommended the U.N. nuclear watchdog close the file. The move paved the way for the implementation of the historic nuclear deal reached in July in Vienna between Iran and the P5+1 group. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hailed the approval of the resolution, noting that Iran is ready to implement its deal with the P5+1.
