(VOVworld) – On Friday former Western Naval
commander Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha called the ruling of the Permanent Arbitration Court in the Hague on East Sea disputes a sound decision which abides by the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Sinha, who is also an expert of international affairs, said the PCA’s rejection of China’s historical rights and the nine-dash-line claim was far beyond expectation.

He said he hopes that claimants will honor this ruling and not obstruct maritime and aviation freedom, oil and gas exploration, and trade activities in the East Sea. Sinha expressed his belief in a law-governed world order, which should be respected by countries around the world, not only in the East Sea region.
