Institutionalization must ensure human rights stated in the new Constitution
(VOVworld) - Human and citizens’ rights are only ensured when legal regulations go hand in hand with the new Constitution’s content, delegates reached the consensus at a seminar on “orienting institutionalization to ensure human rights in the 2013 Constitution” which opened on Friday in Hanoi.
Participants noted that for the first time in Vietnam’s constituent history, in the compilation of the new Constitution’s Chapter on human rights, citizens’ basic rights and obligations were thoroughly collated with the standards of human rights’ regulations as stated in the international Conventions signed by Vietnam. They agreed that to turn these regulations into reality, it was necessary to complete the legal system in accordance with the Constitution. They also called on competent agencies to further disseminate information to the public about the revised Constitution’s regulations on human rights, and citizens’ basic rights and obligations.
