The amount pledged is only slightly less than the four billion dollars a year that the international community promised at the last Afghanistan conference in Tokyo in 2012. The figure is lower because Afghanistan has begun raising its own revenues. The conference called for international support for reforms in Afghanistan and continued political and financial support for Afghanistan’s development in the next four years. Afghanistan said it will make reform pledges on corruption and human rights, and also agreed to accelerate the return of migrants from Europe.
