(VOVworld) – Negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group will continue for the next couple of days, beyond the July 7 deadline. European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini told media during talks in Vienna on Tuesday that this does not mean that negotiators are extending their deadline but is just a flexible way for them to take their time in finalizing the agreement.
Following Mogherini’s statement, a spokesperson for Iran’s negotiators said that they did not set a specific deadline to finalize the nuclear deal with the P5+1 group. Meanwhile, US State Department spokesman Marie Harf said that in order to have additional time to negotiate, necessary technical steps would be undertaken for the talks to continue from the initial deadline of July 7 to July 10.
