Iran, Russia sign MoU to boost gas cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Iran and Russia on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on transferring natural gas from Moscow to Tehran.

The MoU was signed between the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) and Russian energy giant Gazprom in Iran's capital Tehran. In a statement on Wednesday, Gazprom said the parties take as a premise that they will be further developing their long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
In another development, Russian Ambassador to Iran Alexey Dedov told ISNA on Wednesday that the work on a comprehensive cooperation treaty between Russia and Iran is nearing completion, with only technical issues remaining.
According to Dedov, the final signing of this agreement will take place under the next, 14th government after the upcoming presidential elections in Iran. Iran’s presidential election is slated for Friday, with six candidates running.
