The plan was announced during Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s visit to Tehran despite the two countries being at odds over fighting in Syria. Iran’s first Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri reiterated both sides’ commitment to setting a target of 30 billion USD two-way trade. Davutoglu said he believed Turkey and Iran will easily reach the target if international sanctions on Iran are lifted.
