(VOVworld) – Intelligence officials in Britain, France, Australia and south-east Asia are trying to identify Islamic State (IS) militants who appeared in a video showing the murder of US aid worker Peter Kassig and a group of Syrian soldiers.

Paris prosecutor François Molins identified one of the men in the video as Maxime Hauchard, from a village in Normandy. Hauchard converted to Islam and left France in August last year for Syria. He had appeared in an interview saying that he was being trained to become an IS militant. Mollins doubts that there are any other French men in the video. A third militant is suspected to be Nasser Muthana, a student and son of Yemeni-British electrical engineer, Ahmed Muthana, who lives in Wales.
Belgian Defence Minister Steven Vandeput told his Parliament that Brussels would continue participating in the fight against IS in Iraq, particularly the “Desert Falcon” campaign in the first half of 2015. 6 Belgian F-16 aircraft and 120 soldiers are in Iraq to fight the Jihadi’s.
