Tel Aviv recently announced plans to build a new fence to halt Palestinian attacks against Israeli forces.
In one shooting, Israeli troops reported that shooting erupted when the 21-year-old Yehya Taha threw rocks and firebombs and stones at Israeli soldiers during a search conducted in Qattana village for weapons and suspected Palestinian attackers. The Palestinian health ministry said the Palestinian died of bullet wounds to the head.
In Nablus city near the West Bank, Israeli border police shot another Palestinian who got out of a taxi near a military post and began running toward them brandishing a knife. The Palestinian health ministry identified the assailant as 51-year-old Samir Seresi.
