Japan approves more sanctions against North Korea

th nuclear test in September.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said ships registered in Japan are included in the sanctions prohibiting foreign ships that have stopped at North Korean ports from subsequently entering Japanese ports. New trade restrictions will target individuals and organizations involving in North Korea’s nuclear or missile development programs. Their assets in Japan will be freezed. The Japanese Government will also ban those travelling to North Korea from reentering Japan.
The same day, Japan and China failed to get any breakthrough for their negotiation on the establishment of a marine hotline to avoid unexpected encounters in the East China Sea. But they agreed to reduce tension caused by disputes over a group of small islands in the East China Sea.
