(VOVworld) – Hundreds of people laid floral wreaths and lit candles Wednesday at the “Peace on Earth” concert in Tokyo to commemorate victims of the earthquake and tsunami calamity in northeast Japan 4 years ago. Participants prayed for a peaceful and happy life. Addressing the memorial ceremony, head of the organizing board Suzuki Koichig called on the community to continue their support for the northeast region through charity activities.

The earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan in March, 2011, left more than 20,000 people dead including some 3,000 still missing. Tens of thousands of people who lost their homes are still living in temporary housing.
