Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said, “This year we don’t set a target of fund raising and the number of businesses involved in. We encourage organizations and individuals to uphold the tradition of helping the poor to overcome poverty.”
Vietnam has about 980,000 poor households and 1.1 million near poor households. The Central Fund for the Poor said proceeds collected during live TV and Radio programs will be used to build charity houses and prepare Tet gifts for the poor, especially those in remote mountains and border areas.
