(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry has proposed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu between Israel and Hamas to end severely escalating violence in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire will be valid for a week during which Israel Defense Forces will not leave the Gaza Strip entirely. During this cease-fire, Israel and Hamas will begin Egypt-brokered negotiations on a longer arrangement with the Palestinian Authority getting involved. The US, the UN Secretary General, and the European Union will guarantee to both sides that their negotiations will deal with issues important to them.
