King Charles III begins visit to France
(VOVWORLD) - King Charles III on Wednesday embarked on his first state visit to France as monarch, a three-day trip to demonstrate that the fundamentals of the cross-Channel alliance remain strong despite political tensions since Brexit.

At a state banquet to welcome King Charles, French President Emmanuel Macron said Charles's visit to France honors the bilateral friendship and the values they have shared for centuries.
“The fact that Charles III chose to visit France in the first months of his reign is a sign of friendship and trust that we truly appreciate and that deeply touches us. Charles III's visit to France is a tribute to the past and a guarantee of the future," said Emmanuel Macron.
During this 3-day visit to France, in addition to activities in Paris, Charles will visit wine castles in Bordeaux and take part in activities related to environmental protection.
