(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Tuesday. The visit expressed Japan's support for Ukraine in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Japan has pledged to provide 30 million USD through NATO trust funds to assist Ukraine's purchase of non-lethal equipment.
Ukraine hailed Mr. Kishida's historic visit and support for the country. The Ukrainian President also said that he will attend the G7 Summit in May via video link in the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
In another development, two of Russia’s TU-95 strategic bombers and Su-30 and Su-35 fighters flew over neutral waters in Japan.
