Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung (center) cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Lai Chau hydropower plant

(VOVworld) – Lai Chau hydro-power plant, the 3^rd biggest in Southeast Asia, was inaugurated on Tuesday. Located in Lai Chau province, the plant has a capacity of 1,200 MW and supplies 4.7 billion kWh to the national grid.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung acknowledged the efforts of the agencies involved to complete the project a year ahead of schedule and ensure the resettlement of people displaced by the project.
