Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung receives the First Vice Chairman of the Russian State Duma Melnikov Ivan Ivanovich

(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received in Hanoi on Monday the First Vice Chairman of the Russian State Duma  Ivan Melnikov. The Vietnamese Prime Minister stressed that Vietnam respected and would do its utmost to boost the bilateral ties with Russia. He proposed the Russian State Duma support bilateral cooperation, especially on trade, oil and gas, energy and nuclear power. He urged the Russian State Duma to assist the Vietnamese community working, studying and living in Russia to contribute to Russia’s socio-economic development and serve as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.

At a reception for Melnikov in Hanoi on Monday, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung noted relations between the two countries have developed well in recent times through high-level visit exchanges. He expressed his belief Melnikov’s visit will be a milestone in legislative ties between Vietnam and Russia, helping to elevate them on a par with the two countries’ comprehensive partnership. Hung invited Russia’s parliamentary leaders to attend the 132^nd Inter-Parliamentary Union to be hosted by capital Hanoi in 2015.
