(VOVworld) – Localities nationwide are celebrating the International Children’s Day with various activities. The Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs in the central province of Quang Tri on Wednesday presented gifts to 100 poor students with good academic records, particularly disadvantaged minority students. The same day, the northern province of Vinh Phuc held a ceremony to greet International Children’s Day and launch the 2013 Action Month for Children, with authorities granting 15 gifts to local disadvantaged children and 10 scholarships to poor children with excellent academic results. The southern province of Can Tho is organizing a 4-day festival involving 1000 children. Local authorities use this occasion to give 200 poor children gifts, worth a total of nearly 10,000 USD.
