The National Meteorological Center forecasts that storm Doksuri will hit Vietnam’s mainland on Friday afternoon. Soldiers in coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa have worked with local authorities to inform ships to travel to safe areas.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said: “Localities have to impose a sea travel ban and arrange safe shelters for ships. Houses, offices, hospitals, and schools have to be reinforced. It’s important to guarantee smooth and safe transportation on roads, railways, and airway.”
The Deputy Prime Minister asked relevant agencies to prepare food, medicines, and water for people in affected areas.
