Maintaining peace in a transition period: Towards adaptability and self-reliance
(VOVWORLD) - An international workshop called “Maintaining peace in a transitional period: Towards adaptability and self-reliance” opened in Hanoi on Thursday, drawing more than 200 Vietnamese and foreign delegates.
The participants will discuss challenges and opportunities in maintaining peace, stability, and prosperity and cooperation in the region. In his address, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said: “Vietnam pledges to build a cohesive and responsive ASEAN during its term of ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020. In becoming a non-permament member of the UN Security Council, Vietnam promises to act as a bridge linking the organization with ASEAN to achieve common goals, particularly to prevent conflicts and build a sustainable peace.”
