(VOVworld) - The Malaysian Prime Minister phoned his Australian and Chinese counterparts to coordinate ongoing search efforts for a Malaysia Airlines plane that went missing on March 8th. Defense Minister and acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein told reporters on Monday that Malaysia has sent diplomatic notes to countries involved in the operation, including those in the search corridor and those who can give Malaysia assistance and expertise.
Malaysia has asked countries in the search corridor for radar and satellite information and specific tools to be used for the search.
Hussein said in the press briefing that search and rescue operations are being conducted in both north and south corridors, with Australia, Indonesia, China, and Kazakhstan helping Malaysia.
