(VOVworld)—The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development says it will conduct an assessment of marine resources, from which they will map the marine resources, build fish markets and create a logistics center for fishing.

This is a centerpiece of the project to reorganize production in exploitation of marine resources of the General Department of Fisheries, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Under the scheme, marine exploitation should be arranged to suit different fishing grounds in order to improve the efficiency of exploitation activities as well as raise the living standard of the fishermen. For offshore areas, the project will develop and implement career planning and allocate fishing quotas in accordance with the available resources and will negotiate agreements with other countries with marine resources in the region to allow Vietnamese fishing vessels to fish in foreign waters.
