(VOVworld)- A mass performance of xoe folk dance with the participation of 2,033 people has entertained spectators in Yen Bai province. The performance was adapted from 36 ancient Thai traditional xoe folk dances in Vietnam’s northwest region. The 45-minute recorded performance which included six xoe folk dances of the Thai ethnic minority,was performed by local people for tourists. Artist Lo Van Bien, choreographer of the performance, said: Nghia Lo town is going to develop into a destination of culture and tourism. Today, I’m very happy to see this program as well as many local people. This is their dance, their nationality, they love and treasure it.

The event also marks the approval of a project to develop Nghia Lo town into a destination of culture and tourism in the 2013 – 2020 period. On this occasion, Nghia Lo town organized cultural and sport activities typical of the local ethnic minorities to entertain tourists and foster national pride.
