(VOVworld) – The late Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, with his sharp strategic vision was one of Vietnam’s most prominent leaders. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stated this on Monday during a sobre meeting in Vinh Long province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the late Chairman birth, on June 11th. Mr. Dung said the revolutionary was a shinning example of a genuine communist who devoted his entire life to his nation and his people. He added that following 25 years of renewal, as outlined by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and revolutionary leaders, including late Chairman Pham Hung, Vietnam has gained historically great achievements. It has elevated its position and prestige in the world and laid the foundations for the country’s development in the new era. Prime Minister Dung: “The late Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung was a resilient revolutionary, absolutely loyal and devoted to national liberation and the people’s happiness. Thanks to his extensive knowledge and great flair, he contributed greatly to policy making and planning the two long-term resistances, as well as national defense and construction”.

PM Dung called on the whole party and people, including the overseas community to uphold his tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, and national unity, to help boost the country’s reforms and development, to build a wealthy and powerful Vietnam.

The Chairman’s dedications are precious lessons for the young people of today, according to the Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Youth Communist Union, Nguyen Minh Dung: “On behalf of all young people in Vietnam and especially Vinh Long, I promise to follow the example set by comrade Pham Hung’s resilience and loyalty, to fulfill all my political duties assigned to me by the Party and State, and act as the vanguard in all voluntary programs”.

Attendees at the event along with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung were former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An, and former Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh, plus representatives of several ministries and central bodies, revolutionary veterans, and heroic Vietnamese mothers.
