(VOVworld) – On Monday, the steering committee for the southwestern region led by Committee member Tran Huu Hiep visited and presented gifts to Soc Trang province’s Patriotic Clergy Solidarity Association, dignitaries and monks, and outstanding Khmer people on the occasion of the Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

Mr. Hiep asked the dignitaries, monks and outstanding Khmer people to encourage local people to be more united and further develop their homeland.
In Bac Lieu province, the provincial People’s Committee and the steering committee for the southwestern region held a meeting with dignitaries, monks and Khmer cadres. Le Thi Ai Nam, Vice Secretary of Bac Lieu province’s Party Committee, urged sectors and agencies to promote patriotism, reduce poverty, and effectively implement policies for Khmer people in housing, and vocational training.
