(VOVworld) – The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health on Tuesday confirmed that the death toll from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) included 200 more than in previously published data.

The Ministry said that since the first MERS case was recognised in 2012, 689 infected cases with 283 deaths have been recorded, which is far greater than the number of 575 infected cases and 190 deaths published recently. The World Health Organisation (WHO) said the MERS coronavirus has not triggered a global emergency in public healthcare and there is no proof that the virus could transmit between humans.
