Middle-East tension: Lebanon ceasefire proposal unveiled

(VOVWORLD) - Israel’s state broadcaster Kan TV News on Wednesday disclosed a document believed to be a US-proposed draft agreement aimed at easing the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The draft suggests that Lebanon will disarm all unofficial militias in its southern region within 60 days and enforce strict monitoring of arms production and sales to prevent weapons from reaching Hezbollah or other militant groups. In return, Israel would commit to withdrawing its forces from the area within seven days of signing the agreement, under joint monitoring by the US and an additional nation.

On the same day, Air France announced an extension of its suspension on flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, now in effect until at least November 5 due to security concerns. Flights on the Paris-Beirut route are also suspended through November 30, with resumption contingent on further security assessments.
