(VOVworld)-Party and State leaders have participated in a meeting in Hanoi on Saturday to honor 150 representatives of military role models in the campaign to learn from President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

Addressing the event, Minister of Defense General Phung Quang Thanh said that the campaign has been widely and constantly responded in the army after 2 years of implementing the Politbureau resolution on the issue. Thanh said that this practice has helped build up a robust armed force ready for national defense, border security, natural disaster preparedness and poverty reduction: “After 2 years of implementing the Politbureau directive 03 and the military central party organization, the whole armed force has resolute determination to practice themselves following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. The military emulation movement has been closely linked to the campaign on learning from President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings.”

Speaking at the conference, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong praised the army’s effort in following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. He called for a combination of the campaign with Party building to ensure more practical results and duplicate exemplary models.
