(VOVworld) - Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh valued the United Nations’ support for Vietnam’s preparations and participation in UN peace-keeping activities during his meeting with UN Under-Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations Herve Ladsous, in Hanoi on Wednesday. He hailed Mr. Ladsous’ visit to Vietnam and said Vietnam would send officers, military medical and engineering units to UN missions in the near future. He added that the Vietnam People’s Army would fulfill any duties assigned to contribute to UN peacekeeping activities and promote images of a friendly and humane Vietnam People’s Army.
