At a reception for Ines Martins, Chairperson of the Mozambican Assembly’s Commission on International Relations, Cooperation and Communities in Hanoi on Tuesday, NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong said Vietnam highly values Mozambique’s role in the South Africa and in Portuguese-speaking communities. Phong said Vietnam and Mozambique have substantial potential for cooperation, particularly in economy, trade, agriculture, oil, and gas. She urged the two sides to step up their exchanges of high-level delegations, and people-to-people exchanges, and expressed her delight at their growing friendship and cooperation.
Martins said the aim of her Vietnam visit is to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries and prepare for the Mozambican Assembly Speaker’s upcoming visit to Vietnam.
Earlier the same day, Martins met with the head of the NA’s Committee for External Relations, Tran Van Hang. The two shared the hope that their legislative bodies will support and promote bilateral economics, trade, and investment.
