NA leader arrives in Tashkent for attendance at IPU-150, official visit to Uzbekistan
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese NA arrived in Tashkent on Saturday afternoon, for attending at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150) and paying an official visit to Uzbekistan.

The Vietnamese top legislator’s participation in IPU-150 reinforces Vietnam's commitment as a proactive and responsible member of the IPU and multilateral forums, contributing to the enhancement of multilateralism, international cooperation, and solidarity. It will also help to elevate Vietnam’s role in regional and international parliamentary cooperation mechanisms while maintaining strong ties with IPU member countries.
At IPU-150, Chairman Tran is expected to deliver a keynote speech during the general debate on "Parliamentary Action for Social Development and Justice." He will also engage in bilateral meetings with IPU Secretariat representatives and parliament leaders from other countries, discussing ways to step up cooperation with the IPU and deepen bilateral ties.
Vietnam and Uzbekistan have maintained a strong diplomatic relationship since 1992, marked by active exchanges and bilateral cooperation, even during the pandemic. Both countries continue to collaborate at international forums such as the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Forum on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures (CICA).
The NA Chairman's official visit highlights Vietnam's commitment to its longstanding friendship with Uzbekistan and its desire to deepen political trust, laying the groundwork for enhanced cooperation across various spheres.
