(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on Friday hosted Cuban Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera, who came to say goodbye before ending her term in Vietnam.

The Chairwoman congratulated the Cuban Ambassador for her outstanding accomplishment of duties and praised the Ambassador's contributions to developing the traditional friendship and special cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
Ambassador Rivera expressed her impression on socio-economic results that Vietnam has achieved despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
She congratulated Vietnam on its success as ASEAN Chair for 2020 and Chair of ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41), saying Vietnam has contributed to promoting the role of women in ASEAN.
The Cuban Ambassador said that when returning home, she will cherish the good feelings about the country and people of Vietnam and continue to contribute to the special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
