(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies on Tuesday afternoon approved the revised Law on Science and Technology. The deputies also debated the revised Law on Emulation and Rewards.

In the morning, the draft Law on Practicing Thrift and Combating Waste topped the agenda. The deputies agreed on the need to revise the law to correct shortcomings in the existing law and increase social awareness with regards to practicing thrift. But the National Assembly said the revision should focus on regulations concerning the management of State budget, assets, and natural resources, minimizing waste from planning, and decision making to implementation.

The revised law needs to clarify regulations for information provision, detection and reporting acts of wastefulness as well as clarifying responsibilities of leaders in dealing with law breakers.
