National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said: “The National Assembly proposed that the Government and sectors focus on effectively implementing the goal of prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, safe and flexible adaptation, socio-economic recovery and development. It’s imperative to expeditiously develop and drastically implement the program on socio-economic recovery and development with solutions, breakthrough mechanisms, focus, and feasibility; develop a fiscal and monetary policy package to support the socio-economic recovery and development program, and submit it to the National Assembly for prompt decision.”
The National Assembly approved two bills, gave opinions on five bills, and issued 12 resolutions, honoring international commitments and ensuring compatibility of Vietnam’s legal system with international treaties to which Vietnam is a signatory.
National Assembly Chairman Hue said that after two and a half days of Q&A session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and some Government members answered frankly and straightforwardly, and clarified socio-economic management solutions, receiving high approval from the National Assembly deputies, as well as voters and public opinion.
“It can be said that the success of this session continues to affirm important steps forward in building a National Assembly of "Proactiveness, Intellect, Solidarity, Innovation and Responsibility," a National Assembly which is increasingly democratic and transparent, works closely with voters and the people, and is the embodiment of the great national unity bloc,” Mr. Hue said.
This National Assembly session coincided with the 75th anniversary of the 1946 Constitution, the first Constitution in Vietnam's history and a political-legal document with a humanistic and people-oriented character, democracy, and advancement.
